What Proxy Bastion does not do

We do not sell IPs

Proxy Bastion is not a proxy provider. It does not add proxies of its own, and it does not sell you IP addresses. You bring proxies you already pay for and register them; Proxy Bastion only manages access to them through relay links, pools, and the limits described in Limits and revocation. If you need more or better proxies, that has to come from your upstream provider, not from us.

We cannot fix a banned upstream IP

If a destination site has already banned one of your upstream proxy IPs, relaying traffic through Proxy Bastion does not un-ban it. We forward requests to the upstream you registered; we do not change what that upstream’s IP looks like to the destination. Grouping the banned proxy into a failover pool (see Pools and failover) can route around it for future requests by picking a different pool member, but that is failover working as designed, not Proxy Bastion repairing the banned IP itself.

Http and https upstreams only, for now

This release accepts http and https upstream proxies only. It does not support socks5 upstreams. If your existing proxies are socks5-only, you cannot register them with Proxy Bastion today.

What is in scope

None of this is a defect list - it is the boundary of what the product intentionally does: broker revocable, metered access to proxies you already have (see What Proxy Bastion is), not originate proxy capacity, repair upstream reputations, or speak every proxy protocol.
